WHEN GOVERNMENT STEPS BACK
LIBERTY STEPS FORWARD
The Burden of Government Must Have an End
Every dollar stolen by taxation is a dollar denied to a man’s labor, to a woman’s ingenuity, to the dreams of a child. Government has no wealth of its own—it only feeds on yours. We stand to slash taxation, to chain the hand of the bureaucrat, and to return power where it belongs: with the individual.
ABOLISHING RECURRING PROPERTY TAXES IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS TRUE HOME OWNERSHIP AND LIMITED TAXATION
The Leviathan of Taxation
Government does not create wealth. It consumes it. Every new tax is not a civic duty—it is legalized plunder. In Ohio, the Leviathan of taxation feeds on the lifeblood of working families and entrepreneurs, growing ever larger, ever hungrier. It tells us this theft is “for the public good.” But the truth is simpler: it is for the preservation of the state itself.
If liberty is to survive, taxation must have chains. We must write into our Constitution hard limits on how much the government may take, so that the sweat of the citizen is no longer an open trough for the bureaucrat. A government that knows no boundaries in taxation will know no boundaries in power.
GETTING GOVERNMENT SPENDING UNDER CONTROL ALLOWS US TO KEEP MORE OF OUR HARD EARNED MONEY!
The Leviathan of Spending
The government is a glutton. It gorges itself on programs and projects that smother freedom and bankrupt tomorrow. We reject the lie that endless spending is compassion. Waste is not virtue—it is theft from future generations. We fight to starve the Leviathan and restore fiscal sanity to every level of government—federal, state, county, municipal, township, and school board alike.
At every level of government, monopolies thrive. Public schools, city utilities, sprawling bureaucracies—all operate without competition, without accountability, without discipline. They reward themselves with ever-rising wages and benefits while producing mediocrity that no citizen could survive in the private market.
In a true free market, inefficiency is punished and excellence rewarded. In government monopolies, inefficiency is rewarded and failure is excused—because taxpayers are forced to pay the bill. We say enough. These monopolies must be reined in, not expanded. They must serve the people, not themselves.
POLITICIANS WILL WORK TO PRESERVE THE STATUS QUO
EVEN IF IT MEANS BURNING OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE
Why? Because Children do not donate to their re-election campaigns but Government Employee Unions do....
Our Pledge
We are the Ohio Liberty Coalition. We will not bow to liberal dogmas that corrode the soul of modern society. We will fight them in the halls of Congress, in the chambers of statehouses, in county commissions, in city councils, and in the boards of education. Ours is the banner of freedom, and under it, Ohio will rise again.
We pledge never to accept the lie of the “status quo.” For politicians, it is not stability but stagnation. It is not security but surrender. They will spend, regulate, and compromise until the future is nothing but ash—so long as their grip on power remains intact.
We exist to break that cycle. We pledge to resist the cowardice of compromise and the tyranny of bureaucratic decay. We will fight the theft of tomorrow by today’s ruling class. We will not permit our children’s inheritance of liberty to be sacrificed on the altar of political convenience.
Our pledge is to the principles of limited government, unshackled enterprise, and unyielding liberty. Where politicians barter away freedom for expedience, we will stand as a wall. Where government expands into every corner of life, we will drive it back. Where the future is mortgaged for the comfort of the present, we will defend the unborn generations who cannot yet speak for themselves.
We pledge this because freedom is not preserved by the timid. It is secured only by those who dare to confront the powers that would destroy it. And we will not shrink from that task.
WE HAVE A LEGAL SYSTEM SO PREOCCUPIED WITH THE TECHNICAL NATURE OF LAWS THAT PROVIDING JUSTICE HAS LONG BEEN FORGOTTEN
Justice Without Chains
The law was meant to be a shield for the innocent, not a weapon for the ambitious. Yet in America today, our legal system has been twisted into a theater of politics, where justice is rationed by influence, delayed by bureaucracy, and corrupted by ideology. Courts should defend liberty, not legislate from the bench. Prosecutors should uphold truth, not chase headlines.
We declare that the law must be restored to its rightful role: a bulwark of freedom, blind to politics, blind to privilege, blind to ideology. The Ohio Liberty Coalition stands against activist judges, weaponized agencies, and the endless proliferation of regulations that choke enterprise and criminalize honest work.
A free people cannot survive under a legal system that bends to the fashions of the moment. We demand a return to principles that are eternal: equal justice under law, limited government power, and courts that interpret law—not invent it.
